Wishing you a Peaceful Christmas!

Note to self, don't forget to mail all the cards I made!

It's a little late for me to mail cards. Seems I get a little later each year, but better late than never. I have to I admit, last minute I also ordered some on-line photo cards & had those mailed directly from the retailer's site (a real papercrafter's shame, I know...)!

Here is a simple card I made using the new Two-Step bird punch available this January. The flat-storing punch is a great idea, glad to see SU! use these. I added some shimmer to the bird which may be hard to see. Greeting is from All Holidays set that was stamped in chocolate chip craft ink & heat embossed with clear EP, layered on chocolate chip cardstock. For the rest I used whisper white & close to cocoa cardstock, close to cocoa DSP, and some chocolate chip satin ribbon for embellishing this simple, peaceful holiday greeting card.

Now, back to my card mailing. Enjoy a peaceful holiday!

Great Gift Packaging for Papercrafters

I love the tutorial for a Card Purse on Splitcoast. You can check out the easy instructions here... http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/cardpurse

Here is one example using layers of Christmas Cocoa designer series paper and whisper white cardstock on a kraft cardstock base. I added some shimmer to the whisper white snowflakes. The flakes are supported with a small circle punched from the same kraft cardstock I used for the base of the purse then popped up with dimensionals. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamped on white and punched with the word window then layered on a designer label punched out of kraft. The white twill ribbon handles are held securely with glue dots on the inside of the purse. You can easily hold up to 5 cards with envelopes (A2 size) in this, or just use to hold a big candy bar! Happy Holidays!

Happy Holiday Weekend!

Hope everyone is having a lovely holiday. New dog video to share. Dog got a bath before visiting family. He is so sweet in the tub, if not a bit sad looking. We think he'd made a good addition to a Christmas pageant in this garb (if he'd only stay still!). Enjoy!

Getting ready for Thanksgiving...

Time sure does fly! I've been stuck at home sick and can tell I really need to go back to bed... but before the cold medicine really kicks in & makes my eyes even fuzzier, just had to make & post a T-day theme card. I added this to a limited supplies challenge on SCS. I bought the little turkey die on sale & know there is only a "limited" time I can really use it. I frayed his feathers with my scissors & glued the tiniest piece of read paper for his 'beard' (or whatever that is called). Not sure how well it shows up in photos. I used the Holiday Best stamp for the sentiment & my cranberry crisp ribbon I got from the SU Clearance Rack. Nothing says Thanksgiving than using stuff you got on SALE eh! :) Hope all is well with you!

Here's another card using my soon to be absolute favorite set, "Lovely as a Tree"... If you can see, I sponged the sky with bashful blue using a scallop edge oval punch cut of some scrap paper for mask to create clouds. I borrowed the idea from another SCS user, so cannot take credit, but think it does make nice looking clouds... The sentiment stamp I used is from "Sense of Time" stamp set, another favorite.
Enjoy!

Ready for Halloween!

Hope you are ready for Halloween. Of course I cannot update my blog without the latest photo of the pooch... I made a bunch of treat boxes for the office that were fun & easy to make (used the SU! Itty Bitty Box die for treat boxes shown on the top right). Enjoy!

Who needs a lot of ink?

Okay, I have a great stash of re-inkers now. While I know I won't use 'em up any time soon, I love using them in ways other than just re-inking my stamp pads. Claudia shared this idea awhile ago, but I only recently had chance to try it. I used more than one color on final card. I think I over-inked a bit, but it is a fun thing to practice.

Just stamp & emboss your outlined flower on glossy cardstock, then spritz generously with water. While there are pools of water in your petals, take aqua painter & dab a bit of ink in the pools of water. It can turn out nice with varied tones, although my melon mambo/apricot appeal flower looks pretty solid in photo.

World Cardmaking Day!

Been busy today... it is world cardmaking day, so did plenty of cards, but also spent some quality time with the pooch, as always. I remembered that it was a year ago this weekend that we lost our first dog, Denali. Gosh, that was a sad and lonely time. I made a card while thinking of her. Hoping new puppy appreciates all the attention we are doting on him today. All my best, K

Outside training is fun! Our puppy can play fetch pretty well without his long lead, but now that he is 'teenager' dog, and the wildlife around the house are more active, we've decided a little caution may be helpful for our fetching game... Enjoy!

Happiness is.... a new toy or new trick!

Gotta love the fun of puppy training. I have 2 new puppy videos. My connection pretty slow though so took awhile to load them... Happiness is a new toy or new trick, right?
